Wool Pots are a sustainable, biodegradable alternative toplastic plant pots

We take unloved British wool and turn it into environmentally friendly plant pots that are not only good for plants but good
for the planet.

We have worked with some of the leading Horticultural institutions to show that there is an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic pots

We are proud members of the Campaign for Wool and are
thrilled to be helping farmers find a new market for their wool.

The Environment

  • 500 million plastic plant pots are sent to landfill in the UK every year, a further 500 million are incinerated each year. Just think of all the plastic pots you throw away
without a thought to where they will end up.
  • Black plastic pots containing carbon inks can take up to 450 years to degrade. They might be cheap to buy but if they end up in landfill they will cause damage for centuries to come – it’s like burying a time bomb for future generations.

An Unbelievable Natural Material

A perfect circle – sheep eat grass and fertilise future
grass growth as they go, they grow wool and once a year they are shorn to keep
them cool, they then eat more grass and produce more wool!

There are over 100 different grades of wool in the UK,
cashmere and other high end wools are used for beautiful suits, scarves,
jumpers and other clothes. The lower quality is used in packaging and
insulation type products but in the middle is fantastic wool that sometimes
struggles to find a home, this is what we use.

Our packaging is minimal, just a small length of yarn tied
around bundles of 10 pots with a small card label which includes instructions.
